Utah Valley Wood Sculpture Show 2007

Bob Dailey, President of the Utah Valley Woodcarvers, has asked us to start working on our projects for the show. He would like each one of us to carve at least one project. They are coordinating with the city of Spanish Fork to make this a big Art Show Week ending with the Wood Sculpture Show as the highlight at the end. It sounds like a lot of fun. Carvers get busy and finish up your projects!!! Don’t forget to upload your carving images onto the site. Thanks!

Great Salt Lake Woodcarvers Show 2007

Kudos to the West Point Woodcarvers for supporting the GSLW
Show 2007!!! A special thanks to Wendell for donating two additional raffle
carvings that the GSLW club didn’t even need. They already had too many. Way to
go Wendell!!! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we’ll all bring home the Red,
White & Blue Ribbons. A very special welcome to our new Head of Security,
Dennis Davies. He’s in-charge-of Code Enforcement for the club. We’re also
grateful that Dixie Davies has become an honorary member helping out the club
as the Secretary of Defense. You’re the greatest Dixie!!!
Just a reminder for our next club meeting – – – Carvers, bring your punch cards
so that we can keep everybody up to speed. As always, the cards are worth
‘Dollars’. Thanks guys!!!

PS We’ll be starting a new class – The Anniversary Bear’ by Wendell. You’ll
definitely want to sign up to make one of these. It could save your marriage,
or so it has been reported.

Utah Valley Woodcarver’s 1st Annual Show

This two day event was wonderful. It was held in Spanish Fork at the VFW Bldg. The show had over 200 entries with most of them in the Intermediate Carving Level. I’m very proud of our West Point Woodcarvers. We had several First Place Ribbons and a Best of Division. We will soon have pictures of our entries into the show. There’s a lot of talent out there. Thank you guys for supporting the show!
